Bridge TEFL - Teaching English Online Certificate ($249, 3 ACE credits)

Their online, self-paced TESOL certificate program is available for $249.
You'll get 3 ACE credit recommendation after completion.

You can buy 6 credit version course for $350 but I'm not sure if universities will let you transfer full 6 credits.

Interesting post, thanks.

FWIW, the advanced course which is part of the $350 package is ACE-approved for UL credit.

For anyone who is actually interested in teaching English and not just getting credit, I would recommend paying for the $549 or $695 options even if you don't get full credit for doing so. The more reputable schools out there won't hire you if your certificate didn't include a teaching component. Sure, you might still find work with the $250 or $350 options but you're potentially losing out on a higher paycheck later just to save a couple hundred dollars now.

I am currently working on my TESU BSBA Gen Mgmt and plan on getting my masters after so that I can teach.
I am very interested in doing anything I can coming from a “non traditional” background to improve my odds of getting in to a teaching program. I am wondering if doing this and being able to add online teaching to my resume while finishing my undergrad and my masters would be a good look?
TESU BSBA Gen Mgmt - In progress
Straighterline - 72 credits
Sophia - 35 credits
Study.com - 21 credits
TEEX - 6 credits
East MS CC, Jackson State CC, Univ of TN at Martin, Olivet Nazarene, TESU - 27 credits
Goal: teaching cert, state of GA

I don't know for sure, especially since it depends on where you're going to be teaching and what kind of teaching you're hoping to do, but I would think that it would help. If you can get a job teaching English overseas while working on your schooling, so much the better. There is at least one online English school that will specifically hire students who are currently pursuing a degree. I cannot recall which one that is right now, however.
