COSC Degree Plan
#11
To add to Topdog98's post, a thought to consider when deciding when to enroll is changes to degree requirements. If you look at COSC's catalog for this year, and say to yourself,"Okay, this is what I'll follow to get my degree," but you enroll next year, you may find that NEXT year's catalog has different degree requirements. You may have wasted time/money taking courses/exams that no longer meet the degree needs.

My view? I'd wait until you get closer to graduating to enroll. (Just don't come after me if major degree changes occur in the interim!)

I'm currently reconsidering whether I want to get my degree through COSC or TESU. At this point TESU is appealing to me a bit more. My problem is that their degree requirements are too vague and the degree plans listed on the wiki page our outdated. How do I know what outside courses line up with TESU's requirements? Is my original idea to only take courses approved for recommendation through ACE valid with TESU? How do I know which courses to take?

There are updated plans on the wiki (check sanantone's "after July 2015" plans), or do a search for dfrecore's many plans she's posted on the forums.

your plan is valid and easier with TESU than it is with COSC. You will have to do the final Captsone course as a TECEP exam, but you won't need any TESU courses.

Thanks JSD.

Does anyone know if there is a time limit for any of the "big 3" to give credit on courses taken and approved by ACE? In other words, how long can course sit on your ACE transcript and still count for credit at any of the big 3 schools?

Indefinitely for most courses. Computer Science and other tech courses may have a time limit if they are part of your major, it depends on the school. But once you put them there, the courses will stay on your ACE transcript.
