Today, during the annual commencement festivities at COSC, President Ed Klonoski announced their first Master's Degree! It is a Master's Degree in Organizational Effectiveness and Leadership. Limited information is available at this moment, but it's definitely fantastic news!

What if they accept up to 15 transfer credits like Excelsior does with its MLS? Big Grin Now, I'm just waiting for Thomas Edison State University to offer its PhD by publication.

I was there, as one of the graduates. President Klonoski cornered me at the post-grad reception and asked, "So what's next?", and then proceeded to try to sell me on the upcoming masters program...he's quite a salesman for the college.

The long term plan for the college is posted online. It seems the school's goal is to aggressively pursue and increase enrollment. If they go the way of SNHU, the small school charm may cease to be.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

That seems to be exactly where they are headed. It's sad because SNHU felt like a sales pitch the entire time I was enrolled. The "student ID" they sent me was a Higher One debit card. How sad is that? I really don't want COSC to turn out that way. I've already seen a few more WebAds floating around than usual. I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

I've been seeing TESC and COSC web ads lately. Maybe COSC wants to become as big as the other two of the Big 3.

I am seeing a lot of Kaplan, Strayer and SNHU adds lately. I haven't seen any for the Big 3, maybe they aren't targeting my market as of yet.

They seem to be pushing two strategies, easy transfer credit for prior learning and "scholarships".

I agree, I thought about enrolling their, but was turned off by the aggressive behavior of their admission folks. I received at least 3 emails daily, and around 6 phones calls everyday trying to get me to enroll. For a school thats non-profit, SNHU is ran just like a for-profit. I see no difference between SNHU and schools such as Walden, Devry, Capella ect.

So, all I got was an e-mail thanking me for my interest and saying the program would be started sometime in 2016. Not very helpful. Sad

The web ads for the big three only started appearing once I had visited and/or searched for their colleges.
