I have to share with someone...just got word that my PLA portfolio for Pathophysiology was awarded "no credit". Apparently my nursing career has been long on treatment and short on theory. There are not enough expletives in the world to demonstrate how I feel right now. A lot of money and time wasted. :nopity:Yes, I'm whining.
On the upside: just got the grade for my capstone which I was doing at the same time- A. Makes me feel a little better...sniff...

Have you considered putting you knowledge to work by taking the ECE exam, the cost $95. Exam Content Guide
Depending on the cost, is it possible to revise the current proposal by adding subject content from one or two textbook(s) along with scholarly research as listed in the course description (theory). Then use your training and experience as comparitive examples, summarize each section then resubmit the project?

Sorry to hear about your PLA, but a hearty congratulations for the Capstone! I'm only familiar with PLA at TESC and EC. Could you share a few more details about PLA at COSC: How many credits were you going for? How many pages was your submission? Does COSC accept PLA from TESC and/or Learning Counts? Did you have to pay and/or take a pre-PLA course at COSC? Would the ECE mentioned by bricbac have given you the same credits as the PLA? As bricbac has suggested, could you resubmit an expanded narrative overcoming the objections of the first submission? Any additional cost for the resubmission? Thanks.
I was going for 3 credits in Pathophysiology. They do require a pre-PLA course, but they said that the Kaplan course was acceptable. Now I wonder if perhaps that damaged my credibility. My narrative was 11 pages. They had requested more info at one point, and I thought I had provided that...so I guess they are right and it was not credit-worthy. The cost was covered by a scholarship that I was given by COSC. I doubt if I'll try again...I just need 3 natural science credits with a lab, so I'll go to plan b...maybe the bio clep and a one credit lab from somewhere else.
