COSC SDC LL to UL Confirmation
#1
I e-mailed the registrar yesterday to ask about four of the SDC business courses that were LL but with an UL COSC equivalency listed. Here's how it went:

"According to the Study.com Charter Oak transfer list under the “Business” category (https://study.com/directory/school/Charter_Oak_State_College.html#transferTab), there are several lower level courses that have the exact same course equivalency at Charter Oak as do their upper level counterparts. For instance: both Study.com courses Business 106 and Business 306 transfer to Charter Oak as “HRM 310: Human Resource Management”. Does this mean that the Business 106 course from Study.com would come in as upper division for Charter Oak? I’ve included a screenshot of the link above with the four courses I’m curious about marked in red. Will these specific courses transfer to Charter Oak as Upper Level?"

They answered:

"Thank you for your continued interest in Charter Oak State College. There are some courses like human resource management that we recommend taking the defined upper level version of the course (BUSINESS 306) rather  than the ACE recommended lower level.  However, as the content is very similar, we will equate either Study.com course to our HRM 310."

So, for the classes discussed, Bus. 106/306, that's a difference of 22 lessons and a 2,000 word paper. It may be worth it to some to take the easier way with the LL course. But, like so many have said on this forum, you will have to do a lot of writing for your Capstone, so you might as well get your practice in while you can.

Just throwing this out there. I'll probably take the UL courses to get the practice in because I'm transitioning from MLA to APA format.
