COSC concentration "prerequisites"

How strict is COSC on concentration "prerequisites"?

For the Business Administration concentration, they list Macro/Micro Economics as prerequisites. Are they going to insist that you take these classes (or had taken these classes) before taking ANY of the other business classes?

I would think they'd be flexible about this, but I'd like to be sure.
