COVID Specials! Colleges with Free Fall Tuition
#1
Gams007's post on South Texas College inspired me to search for more schools offering a tuition-free semester.

https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid344483

University of St. Thomas is offering free tuition for Fall 2021 for its online associate's degree programs. Click on the program of interest for more details.

Trident Technical College is offering free tuition this fall to South Carolina residents. Out-of-state residents will receive a fee reduction down to the out-of-county rate.

Buy one, get one free or buy two, get two free at Lamar State College - Port Arthur.

There were a few other schools offering a free semester, but the application deadlines passed. I also found schools that are offering free tuition to in-state or in-county residents only, local students facing hardships, and one that is offering online courses temporarily, but it wasn't clear if applicants had to follow on-campus admissions procedures. Here are more details if you want to check it out.

Clinton College is a TRACS-accredited HBCU. The entire 2021-2022 school year is tuition-free, and full-time students will also receive a free Surface Pro Laptop.

IIRC, University of St. Thomas had a weird application process. They had a "free" class offer last year that I tried to sign up for but that never worked out and I don't remember why.

Free tuition is great!

I think that the laptop has to be returned unless you graduate from there, though they could have changed things.

I put in an application for St Thomas. Bummer they only accept 6 GE credits, not sure about ACE. I was hoping to take some AOS courses or ULs not Gen Eds but it's free nonetheless.

Dine is offering a free spring semester if you enroll in the fall. You must be enrolled FT but their tuition is very cheap.

Quote:4. A student must be a degree seeking. A student with a non-degree seeking status is not eligible.

I made that assumption when they said you must be enrolled FT. Not sure if it's common to be a full time non-degree seeking student, but I am still new to the board.
