Cheapest Online History Masters Programs... am I missing any?
#1
I've listed the cheapest History Masters programs that I can find that can be finished completely online. The tuitions might not be entirely up to date but no worse than a few months old. Does anyone know if I missed any or have any feedback on the schools I have listed?

Fort Hays State University - MA History, MA Public History - $272 per credit
Missouri Statue University - MA History - $285 per credit
Adams State University - MA in Humanities with an American History emphasis - $330 per credit
American Public University - MA History - $350 per credit
Emporia State University - MA History - $449 per credit
University of Nebraska - Kearney - MA History - $454 (+ "fees") per credit
Indiana State University - MA US History, MS History - $499 per credit
University of Louisiana - Monroe - MA History - $500 per credit
Sam Houston State University - MA History - $539 per credit
Arizona State University - MA History - $542 per credit

You also need to check how many credits each one requires, not just the cost per credit.

If you're a veteran, Liberty University's program is onl $275 per semester credit hour- and even lower for first responders ($187?). APU/AMU's history department is really good.

I got my Bachelor's at Fort Hays State University. It has been great to have on the resume and its legitimacy has never been questioned like other online only institutions.

I am also in the same boat as the OP. I am military so I am very much considering Liberty University considering how cheap it is. I honestly do not like how limited the class choices are at Fort Hays for online grad students in history. And I actually believe AMU to have the best class selection amongst most programs offered online. Unfortunately, the fact that it is an online only, for-profit institution is the only thing holding me back, despite all the great things I hear about the school and especially their history program. I've been looking at Missouri State as well, which seems like it could be a great choice. I am just unsure what the BEST option is for me.

Hopefully this thread picks up some steam though and we get some more insight from others who have taken grad classes in history at some of the aforementioned schools.

If I was going to get a history degree, AMU/APU would be where I would do it. I LOVE their choices for history courses. My son is super interested in military stuff, and I'm tempted to let him get a certificate in Explosive Ordinance Disposal because AWESOME!
