Cheapest self-paced associates degree program?
#1
I need to get an associates degree in computer science or IT. What is the cheapest fastest route I can take? I am not a US resident.

Is usually commented that bachelors and associates comes near the same pricce.

Also think if you want it RA or NA. If you are outside US maybe RA is the only useful option for you.

For TESU, which is probably the easiest Associate in Comp Sci to get, the ASNSM is only slightly cheaper than the Bachelor's degree.

If you play it right, the Bachelor's degree would be $4639 for 16 credits at TESU in a single term + about $1000 for credits from TEL/ONU + application & graduation fees.

The Associate's degree would be $4639 for 16 credits at TESU in a single term + application & graduation fees.

The remainder of the credits, from Sophia.org and Study.com, would cost roughly the same for both an Associate's and a Bachelor's.

There is technically UoPeople that would cost less than TESU. But they are (right now) Nationally Accredited and not Regionally Accredited. As Kab pointed out, there are countries that do NOT recognize NA as being legitimate American degrees. UoPeople is also not exactly self-paced so it would probably take you 2 years to get their Associate's degree. In contrast, I think it takes the average TESU student from this board 1-2 years to get their Bachelor's degree.

Interesting, why do you need an Associates? You have a Bachelors and you were looking for a Masters. This is going backwards I think, is there a need for an Associates? If I recall correctly, you were wanting to get a Masters for immigration purposes. You might be best helped, if you list all your credits/credentials, even if they are foreign. We can further help you if we get more info... Moreover, what is your budget? Cheapest/Easiest/Fastest is what we all look for... Does it have to be RA or will NA suffice?

I didnt want to be specific but this is for my brother. He graduated high school last year and needs an associates to check a box for employment.

NA would be fine. As long as it can be verified through the employers' background checks, im fine with it. Budget would be $3000 unless i am being absurd.

They do offer "scholarships" for some international students to bring the cost down to Utah-resident prices. But it's not guaranteed.

The last I heard from an Executive Director there, they offer discounts (scholarships I guess) to out-of-state students to bring the cost down to the same price as in-state students.
