College Credits for International A Level Qualifications
#1
I was on the alternative credit section of the University of Florida Online website. They accept the familiar CLEP, DSST, IB, AP, Uexcel, etc. They also accept AICE exams, which I had never heard of. This is a program developed by Cambridge Assessment International Education. The Cambridge AICE diploma consists of AS and A Level exams. One must enroll in a school that is authorized to offer the curriculum, similar to the IB program. There are American schools that offer this program, but most of them are in Florida. I'm including a link to the list of U.S. schools; most states don't have a program. So, I found online programs!

Wosley Home Oxford is a homeschooling college that accepts adult learners. Full A Level subjects are around $1,028.61 each. AS or Y2 A Levels are around $614.44 each. You'll have to find a testing center in the U.S. I included a link to the U.S. locations of Cambridge participants. You may be able to take the exams at schools that accept private candidates without being enrolled in a Cambridge school.

Ivy Academy out of South Africa has an online program for IGCSE qualifications, but it appears that international students have to be residing in South Africa to register. They cost around $62 per month.

so i just wanted to add onto this since i've done the A levels before. WES gave me 8 credits per full A level subject that I completed. So 4 A level subjects gets you about 30+ credits.

You don't need to take any online courses for A Levels. Just use online free resources and take the exam. £400 is a normal price in the UK for private candidates.

Thanks, so it's more like AP than IB. One can sit for AP exams if they can find a school that will let them.

iirc you can take the A levels exams twice a year (May and Nov?) at a British Council near you. You can use 2 consecutive sittings of A level results to 'combine' them into a full A level certification.

random interesting stuff about O/A levels - entry into UK Unis are normally 3 A level subjects (entry into Oxbrige is mostly A*A*A*). Most tier 1 US unis require students to have A levels for entry, but many state Unis accept students with just O levels (its the exams 1 tier lower than A levels. its taken at 16)

You can find more info in their database.

https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/r...on-search/

an example here

Arizona State University Universities and colleges United States Arizona Arizona State University accepts IGCSE or O Levels as meeting the entry criteria for admission.
Details

University of Arizona Universities and colleges United States Arizona The University of Arizona accepts O-Levels and IGCSE as meeting admissions requirements.

so technically you could have your kid sit for O levels at 16, pass em and enter ASU or UA, and prob graduate by 20 (or 19 if u really wanted to do summer classes)
