Cost for an Associates
#1
Ugh!! Back here after taking a break for...(ahem)....a few years and more confused than I ever was! Planning to take a Bachelors in Liberal Arts or Business or something but, largely for motivational purposes, thinking of knocking off a quick Associates on the way. BUT....it looks like TESC or EC would be hideously expensive - about $3000-ish. Am I right? Looks like COSC is more reasonable but then, do I want to stay at COSC for the Bachelors?? And am I right that they're cheaper?

I currently have 22.5 credits from Northeastern, mostly in business type subjects (Accounting, Marketing, Business Law etc) and 21 CLEP credits (US History, Government, Biology, Astronomy, Western Civ).

If I bash out another 17 credits real quick, is there a cheap way to get my first piece of paper, suitable for framing??

Cheers
Mitch

Since you already have 12 college RA credits the answer is yes - and it doesn't get cheaper than the Pierpont BOG AAS

Go to this thread for information: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...AAS-thread

There are also a few recent options on getting those missing courses for free or near free between scholarships, and vouchers as well.

Study.com Guardian Scholarship - https://study.com/blog/guardian-s-person...rship.html

CLEP for Free through Modern States - https://modernstates.org/

Online Degree (coming soon) - https://www.onlinedegree.com/

Saylor.org - https://www.saylor.org/

I think I've cover them all.
Amberton University
- MS Human Relations and Business - 2022
Thomas Edison State University (TESU)
- BSBA General Management - 2018
- ASNSM Computer Science -2018

Pierpont does take the TEEX and other free sources of credit. I have them on my transcript there.

Additionally, RCCC takes DSST and CLEP, they require 16 credits taken there to graduate, but if you are in NC it might be an option.

I'm going to agree with allvia to go for the Pierpont BOG AAS, here's the spreadsheet for it.

Also, it doesn't matter if you stick with the same school for an AA/BA, or go to different schools.  Makes not a whit of difference in the scheme of things.

I would look at the bachelor's degree you want to get, and make sure that the courses you take for the Pierpont AAS will work in the BA/BS you're wanting.
