Coursera - Free online courses through December 31 2020
#1
FYI, the ones that interest me are some of these, a couple are new: https://www.coursera.org/professional-certificates
Sadly, I don't think they are offering any of these for free though: https://www.coursera.org/mastertrack

This deal has been mentioned before, but with minor differences, I think the programs or length of the freebie has changed.
Link mentions extension to Dec 31, 2020 : https://blog.coursera.org/coursera-toget...-covid-19/
In Progress: Walden MBA | TESU BA Biology & Computer Science
Graduate Certificate: Global Management & Entrepreneurship, ASU (Freebie)

Universidad Isabel I: ENEB MBA, Big Data & BI, Digital Marketing & E-Commerce
Certs: 6Sigma/Lean/Scrum, ITIL | Cisco/CompTIA/MTA | Coursera/Edx/Udacity

I wish edx would follow Coursera's example and release their courses for free for a bit. There's some new "microbachelors" programs from NYUx that look intriguing but are too expensive for not having a guaranteed credit evaluation yet.

I'm not BJ, but in general, you list Coursera courses on your resume the same way you do any continuing education courses and certifications that you may already possess.

Personally, the way I do it is that I have a "Continuing Education" section at the bottom of my resume (after my normal education and certifications section), and in that section, I list each course provider followed by a list of courses, sponsoring university, and dates they were completed.

A LinkedIn profile is often more useful than a resume, so that is critical to keep updated. They also make it easy for an employer to confirm your Coursera courses since you can include the verification link for the certificate awarded after completing a paid course.

For whatever reason, I can't see my last 2 posts on the other Coursera thread. Essentially Coursera for Campus will allow university/college students to do unlimited guided projects and 1 free course per year going forward. Check out their faq for more details:

https://learner.coursera.help/hc/en-us/a...S8C2SD02HT

If you were part of the Previous Coursera for Students initiative, they should be transitioning you automatically to the new program:

Quote:We hope you’ve been enjoying the courses you’ve taken so far on Coursera and hope you’ll continue to enjoy the courses we offer. We’re currently moving you to a new program that will allow you to take one free course per year. You’ll also have unlimited access to Guided Projects.

During the transition period, you may be unable to enroll in courses or Guided Projects. We will send you an email once the transition is complete.

It says about 5 months. I think Coursera is $39/mo. or you can pay $400 for a year of plus and gain the ability to get even more certificates. https://www.coursera.org/courseraplus Not everything is included in Plus but it looks like everything from Facebook is included.

With my TESU email account, Coursera allows me to sign up for free.

I'm pretty sure that everyone can sign up for free. Though signing up with your school address gives you access to the free course a year.

If you are just using Coursera to learn, then most (maybe all) of the lecture content is available for free. You really only have to pay if you want to take the exams and earn a certification for having passed the course.

If you're looking for credit courses, just be aware that none of the Coursera courses will earn you actual college credit. Well, unless you're taking courses as part of a micro-degree or some kind of college partnership program. It may be a good way to prepare for a CLEP, TECEP, or UExcel exam though.
