Do IDS 101 or BUS 499 count as LA credits?
#1
Can anyone tell me if either of the two courses (IDS 101: Cornerstone Seminar and BUS 499: Strategic Management Capstone) that COSC requires you to from them count towards their 60 Liberal Arts credits?

I am close to a rough plan of attack, but it looks like I am 3 credits shy on the 60, unless one of these counts.  Tried searching the forum already, but didn't find any answers...

Thanks!

Hello, I just finished the capstone (BUS 499) and tried to check my degree portal to see where the Capstone fit in. Unfortunately, once you complete the requirements and there is nothing left to do, the section is locked. That being said, based on what I remember the portal looked like before I started the class, the Capstone did count as Liberal Arts Credits.

Did you apply to COSC? If not, I suggest you do so because right now the application fee is waived. You will save $75. After applying, pay the deposit of $150-160. I can't remember how much exactly. Once those steps are completed you will be assigned an advisor who will answer all of your questions. All of the faculty is really great at COSC. I asked my advisor every possible question about using exams and substituting courses and changing my plan, etc. I took a few years off due to a job change and losing focus. When I reapplied, they even gave me the same advisor which helped me out greatly. I live close to their testing center and even took all of my DSST and CLEP's there because they were so nice to deal with.

Good Luck

Excellent, thanks @merolpm!  Do you know if the IDS 101 was also? I saw another thread that seemed to indicate so, but it wasn't for sure...

Yes, actually I was trying to apply just a bit ago and got an error from their site, but I will make sure to try again get in on the free application.  Great advice on the deposit and brain-picking, I will do just that!

Yes, when you're getting an AA at COSC, the cornerstone counts as 3cr, leaving you to take/bring in 57cr.

The capstone counts as another 3cr, so for the BA, you'll have 3cr of capstone and 3cr of cornerstone, leaving you 114cr to bring in.
