Doctor of Professional Practice (can possibly use free graduate certificate)
#1
It appears that Thunderbird designed this program with the free graduate certificate in mind.

The 60-credit program includes 45 credits from DPP courses and 15 transfer credits obtained through graduate certificate or graduate level course work.

That’s a lot of money, $112,500 total, but that isn’t really out of whack for an AACSB accredited business doctoral degree. University of Florida, Rollins College, Georgia State University, and Temple University all all right around that price point for their distance/low residency DBAs. Whether or not it makes sense to spend that amount of money on such a degree is a different question, but that is market rate.

My bigger issue is the degree title itself. Were I to do a doctoral degree, I would love a PhD, might settle for a DBA.  But what, exactly, is a Doctor of Professional Practice?  Dr. Freeloader, DPP. No thanks. Don’t want people to mistake me for a podiatrist!

$112,500 for a DPP is ridiculous. It's not a DBA or PhD. Who even knows what a DPP is?

I would pass on it and find a better option honestly. To get that much debt to me is not worth it, plus if you are making really good money I don't think a DBA is necessary.
