EC BSLS Depth Question?
#1
Ok, so I decided I would try to quickly finish up the BSLS at EC while I'm working on my BSHS. My question is about the depth requirements. I have some Psych classes and it was recommended that Psych be my first depth, but then history was recommended as the second. I'm horrible with history...trying to remember dates, generals & battles etc. I'm afraid I wouldn't do my best in that area. What other areas can I use as a depth? Most of my classes have been in health sciences and related areas. I might be able to do something in the science area or business area. Would there count? I need mostly UL exams. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you have taken the history exams while having a distaste for history and done well, please let me know! If I could get my hubby, the history buff, to shave his mustache and curl his hair I could send him in my place! LOL! He'd draw the line at wearing my bra though! LOL! Oh wise ol forum members help me find the path of least resistance!
Thanks a bunch!

One key difference between the BA and BS at Excelsior is the second depth. If you're a BSLS candidate, that second depth does not have to be from the liberal arts! Ask your advisor if some of your health sciences credits could be applied as a depth. Failing that, you could create a business-oriented depth; your advisor might approve one that includes CLEP Intro to Management, DSST Intro to Business, ECE HR Management and ECE Organizational Behavior (those two ECEs are upper-level).

English lit was my area of focus and history was the second depth, but then again I would have majored in history if I weren't in such a hurry to complete the degree! (I don't like memorizing dates, because what's really fascinating to me are the reasons and results)

For my Depths, EC used my DLPT (Defense Language Proficiency Test) in Spanish "Humanities" (Depth 1) and my AARTS (Army Transcript) for my second depth in "Applied Professional" category with Management type classes. I had enough History CLEPs and DSSTs for a History Depth but EC said it didn't matter as long as I had two.
