Hey folks, can anyone confirm that there is only ONE Practice Exam for each ECE? I'm dying to take the Social Psychology PT because I think I might be ready, but I'm not certain, and I don't want to waste the one good PT on the chance that I "might" be ready, and wish I would have saved it for later. If there is only one official PT, are there other options out there?

Dhillbilly is right--you get 2 PTs and can take each once. You can review multiple times in the 90 days you have the test.

Okay next question! I have taken the first practice test and I got 42 out of 50 correct. It was SUPER easy. How much weight should I give this PT? Is it really that accurate? Am I ready for the exam? I was wondering if maybe the second practice test is more difficult. Don't want to underestimate, but at the same time, if I'm ready I'm ready!
Lemme know.

If you want an A on the actual exam, do both practice tests and the practice questions that are available on the Excelsior website. You need upward of 88% on the exam to earn an A. When I did this test last summer, I studied the rationales of the answers of all the questions after I took the practice tests. You will see many questions similar to the practice test on the real thing. Good luck.

By "practice questions that are available on the Excelsior website" do you mean the 25 Sample Questions on the Social Psychology Study Guide? Mmkay, so it sounds like I need to maybe study the IC flash cards a little longer, take the second practice test and the sample questions to be totally confident, then go take the test. I'm all right with that. Thanks very much!

I took the Social Psychology test several months ago. The practice test was very much like the real test. If you do well on both practice tests, I would bet on an "A".

From my experience (with the World Conflicts ECE PT), the second PT was easier than the first.
And are you sure 88%+ is needed for a "A"? I heard somewhere else it was 80%

The link above is the technical data for all ECE's. It is not crystal clear from the posted data on this particular exam what the average correct and percentage of grade distribution is. Because each ECE comes with a breakdown of percentage correct on each section, a little data collection from degree forum test takers could help determine the cut point. It is different for each ECE. My 88% may be a high estimate but I think 80% may be too low for an A. If those Social Psychology test takers on the forum posted their percentage correct along with their grade, we could crowd source the cut scores by Percentage. I did well on this exam, around 96% correct answers including the experimental questions which don't get counted on the final score, which was an A.
