I would like to know about the assignment submission as this is the first time ever I am writing a paper. Is it okay to use grammerly to correct my phrases / grammers to improve the quality of my paper? Did anyone used this for their paper?

Will grammerly usage also be detectable as AI content? Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
I'm not sure how Grammarly is detected on their end, but I have used it regularly on my assignments and never had any mentions from the professors.

Hi Lidel,
Thank you so much for your response. I had this question as they mentioned no AI usage should be there for the assignments. Thats what making me more depressed as will it be counted as AI usage if paraphrase my ideas and proper grammer structured by grammerly.

Hey all.
I just got my endorsement for defending my dissertation, and pending the degree audit next month, I'm all done.
The data collection was a considerable amount of work, and my initial data analysis and drafting of Chapters 4 and 5 went remarkably smoothly. Start to finish that all took about eight weeks. I had one round of revisions, then defended on October 17. I was passed with revisions, which I have come to learn is pretty standard for most defenses. I completed one major round of revisions and one minor round, and didn't have to defend again.
It's been a heck of a journey, and I've really enjoyed it, though I'm really glad that it's over. Overall the University was really good to work with. The courses are well structured, and the people there really care, and work with you to sort through difficulties. They did move the bar a couple of times; once was when they approved my proposal and then backtracked, forcing me to redo about a week's worth of work and reapply for my IRB approval. The second time was two days before my dissertation defense, when they sent me new expectations for the presentation that were way different from what I had been given three weeks prior. I dug my heels in on that one, and they agreed to let me present based on the first set of instructions.
There were also some complications with getting bounced out of the program due to a clerical error. I went in circles with UpGrad for about a month before reaching out directly to the Registrar's office, which corrected it in a day. My final stance on UpGrad is that they are about as useful as a screen door on a submarine; enough said there.
Okay, that's all for me. Thanks for reading!

Thanks! I'm glad the posts were useful. When I started the program it was a bit of a leap of faith and I wanted people to get a view of it through a student's eyes.

Great work! Awesome journey, UpGrad is a good provider as long as you can handle the bumps and hoops throughout the program. It was a perfect decision to get the registrar involved and having issues handled in a much better way (effective & efficient). Congrats on your accomplishment!

UpGrad is good in the sense that what they offer is real, and that they are needed to reap the savings. However, it is horrid in terms of any logistical aspects that actually deal with the program. It's like a necessary evil, and I have no regrets overall, worth every penny.

It's been a while since I wrote a msg here. I have been busy working on my DBA courses diligently, even maintaining my "A" grades until I got unexpected news.
So UpGrad has scammed me!!! Edgewood College or University as it is now doesn't have a Tech and AI specialization. The university claims they didn't get sufficient students so they are not offering this. Only Leadership and Finance is available.
Well I wasn't told the Tech and Ai specialization is conditional. I mean is that even a thing from a university????? I have never heard of it.
UpGrad refuses to refund my money, even charged my card inspite of telling them to STOP payments. They are telling me they can't do that, they have no control over this. I'm like WHAT??? You have no control over stopping recurring charges.. how is this even possible.
Their international student personnel came back after 3 weeks of me threatening them and saying sorry it was written on the website and brochure the course will only start if we get 10 students. I have the brochure...I actually got ChatGPT to basically go over it with a fine toothcomb... nothing, nowhere written 10 students...
I went online... this site: Course: DBA & MBA from Edgewood College specializing in Tech and AI | RiseUpp... is still talking about Tech and AI and the course will start in 24th Sep... then I went looking for UpGrad brochure, not the one they sent me... and they have covertly added in small print... 10 students. My brochure didn't have this nor did the so called Aakash Shelar, the Admissions & Scholarships person ever tell me the specialization was conditional. Now they are forcing me to go to Golden Gate as I want AI or go to DBA in Edu...
Actual conversation from this guy - "I understand, hence is it possible for you to move towards Edgewood Doctorate in Education(Ed.D) instead of the DBA, where AI is offered?" We also, have Golden Gate University as well that offers a concentration in Generative Ai. Then I got this: Also, the Tech and Ai part which I conveyed to you was true to every extent.
The decision of Edgewood University to not include it, is beyond the scope of my designation to ask.... and before that I got this msg: Your profile is being handled by Pratiksha from the learning experience team.
She would definitely get back to you, and I also checked with the finance team; your payment has already been halted.
... My payment was halted... and now they are saying we have no authority, you should have stopped the payment from your side this and that. It is a nightmare. I will never get back my money. So I don't know what to do.
Any advice guys... what do I do here.. cut my losses or go ahead and get a DBA in a program that I never wanted or even know anything about. I mean the dissertation is like 300 pages I hear... I have no experience in finance or leadership.
I even wrote to the Associate Dean about this. She confirmed the Tech and AI isn't available. I asked for an extension to choosing the specialization as I need to think. Do you guys think if I write a formal complaint to the university they will make UpGrad refund my money? And also I am curious, does this happen often in American universities? Specializations just disappearing? I mean I did my MBA from University of the People, which many talked about as being scam artists, low quality education, this and that, but at least I knew what I was going to study. It wasn't all in the wind.
Anyway, just to make other students aware that this can happen.
N! Hi, I would not give too much importance to the Concentration/Emphasis as it only consists of 3 courses. For the thesis you can choose a topic which combines Tech/AI and Leadership or Finance. It will be more 80-300 pages and you can be creative with the topic. Hope that helps.
Apologies for the late reply and thank you for your reply. I have talked to the dean who has given me permission to audit and think about the specializations before deciding. It isn't about using Tech and AI in the paper, but rather having Tech and AI on the transcriptions which would have helped me get further in my career in AI. This was the main reason for doing the DBA in Tech and AI.

Getting a refund from a university by asking is basically impossible. You'd have to sue them for defrauding you, and they'll put $100k into legal fees before considering giving you your money back. After a few years and who knows how many tens of thousands (or more) in legal fees you'd probably win the case if you can prove everything you're saying here, but to say that isn't going to be any fun would be an understatement. Assuming you were suing an American university, that is. My understanding is that upGrad is an Indian company (not a university in any sense) and scamming foreigners is practically the national sport over there. If you sue them for defrauding you the corrupt courts there will probably say you owe upGrad more money for some bullshit reason. Your money is gone. Just like you have to deal with everything bad about Spaniards when you do business with ENEB, you have to deal with everything bad about India when you do business with upGrad.
Yes, American universities pull this kind of crap all the time and it is considered perfectly acceptable behavior by accreditation agencies. "Hurr hurr, that class you need is full, guess you'll have to pay us for 2 more years until the next time we offer it," is standard operating procedure. So is a university completely scrapping a program with enrolled students for any or no reason. Likewise, if the university closes while you're enrolled and no one will take 90% of your credits in transfer, too bad.
The fact that they're willing to put the money you already paid toward any upGrad degree is relatively good customer service for India. The Golden Gate University degree is $30k though. I would try to get the GGU degree for the Edgewood price because you enrolled on the premise that you would get a DBA in AI for $X. GGU is a better school too. If that doesn't work then you would have to decide whether the EdD or DBA is the lesser evil. It sounds like you have too much time and money into it to make walking away and starting over at Walsh College the better choice.
Hello,
Thank you for your reply, though I found it a bit callous.
Just to clarify a few points:
UpGrad is actually registered in Singapore, not India. This distinction matters for how complaints and regulations are handled.
I’m not suing the university; I have filed a complaint with the Provost, who is looking into the situation.
Edgewood University confirmed that the Tech & AI specialization isn’t available because of insufficient enrollment. I was never informed that it was conditional. This misrepresentation has significant consequences for me, as I’m in the AI field and the specialization was key for my career plans and eligibility for the UAE Golden Visa. Leadership or Finance doesn’t meet those requirements.
While Golden Gate University offers AI-related programs, it isn’t regionally accredited, so it wouldn’t serve the same purpose for my career or visa plans.
I want to emphasize that I have nothing negative to say about the professors or the courses. Professors like Dr. Palmisano and Dr. Ken are excellent, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the coursework and maintaining high grades. My frustration is strictly with how the specialization was promised but not delivered, which I consider misrepresentation.
I shared the story not just for myself but to warn other students: always double-check the availability and conditions of your specialization, even when it’s promoted online or in brochures. Many don't know this is common like me, as in my previous degrees with American Universities, I didn't face such issues.

Hey!
I had the same problem. At the end, I proposed to them several workarounds that could work for me, and we agreed to take the EdD Emerging Technologies courses instead of the Tech and AI courses. That's working perfectly fine for my scenario. Give it a try if you are interested.
Hi,
Thank you for your reply. As I'm not in the Education field, unfortunately that doesn't work for me. N!
Hello everyone,
This post isn’t about my own problems, but about Quant II. I noticed many of my classmates struggling with R and applying different estimation methods.
To help, I’ve written a free R guide specifically for beginners. It explains the basics of R and the estimation methods used in the course and has already helped several classmates, especially since you have to complete four major econometric papers.
If you’d like a copy, just message me with your email, and I’ll send it to you.
