I have seen some people here say that TESU recently changed their policy regarding transfer evaluation so that equivalencies match the level (upper or lower) that they are considered at the institution where the class was taken (e.g. if the original institution considers it UL, they will consider it as such; ditto for LL). Is there a source for this information? And, in your experience, how closely does TESU follow this guideline?
The reason I ask is that I recently had a BYU Social Psych course (PSYCH 350) added to my plan that, based on BYU's numbering, appears to be upper level (in addition to PSYCH 350, I also have PSYCH 341 and PSYCH 361 on my plan, and both were added as UL). But they listed it as PSY-237. I'm wondering if there's a chance that advising is evaluating the class differently than the registrar will? The reasoning I was given for it being LL is that it has "Introduction" in the full course title - but so does TESU's 3-credit Social Psych course, PSY-370, which is UL.
It isn't the end of the world if the class doesn't end up coming in as UL, but I would like to maximize the chances that it will. Should I have it removed from my evaluation so that the transcript evaluators don't see it pre-planned and automatically use the same equivalency?
