TESC allows your depths to be in Social Science and Humanities? That's great. I asked EC about this and was told:
"Unfortunately, a Depth/Area of Focus (AoF) is designed to be more specific than just Social Sciences/Humanities and would require that you choose a specific discipline (ie. Psychology, Sociology).

Excelsior told me basically same thing when I wanted to use CLEP Social Sciences and History exam toward an Area of Focus in History. "That exam is too general, it must be more specific." TESC seems a bit more lenient in their acceptance policy, as far as upper vs. lower level, and they accept 200-level courses as upper level? I think that is what caused the confusion here, is that Excelsior considers 300+ courses upper level. That plan does look good for a TESC road map, though.

I also think that Excelsior gives all twelve credits possible from the foreign language exams as lower level, but creationstory is on the right track by thinking foreign language for upper level there. I could be wrong on this, and please correct me if I am, but rather than CLEP, the ACTFL (OPI) exam is a better way to go for foreign language upper level credits at Excelsior. This says they award six lower and six upper level, depending on the score and the language: http://www.acenet.edu/AM/Template.cfm?Se...entID=6913 I cannot recall off the top of my head, but I think there are a few different foreign language exams out there that yield a lot of credit. But I'd rather take an ECE or a GRE than learn a whole language that I was completely unfamiliar with. Not that I wouldn't like to learn another language, it's just something that would take me a great deal of time.
