Excelsior - Unofficial Evals & the WER
#1
For those of you who received an unofficial evaluation from Excelsior after applying, did it call out the Written English Requirement (WER), assuming that applied to you?

Mine didn't mention the WER as something I would need to complete, so I'm hoping they applied my English Comp class (from 'way back when') to the WER. EC may not get back to me for a couple of months with my official eval, so I just thought I'd ask other EC students about this.

Thanks!
Alix

Yes, they did mention the WER on the unofficial evaluation. If you transferred in English Comp credit, then you are probably covered.

Thanks for responding.

I had heard that some people had to go back to their transferring institution and ask for a letter stating that they met the English comp requirement for that college and then give that to Excelsior, so I'm happy if I don't have to do that. My course is listed as EWRIT 1A (vague!) but has "Comp" in the title, so I guess that's enough for Excelsior.

If I was going to a college in my own state, GE requirements would mean I'd have to take an additional English Composition course in critical thinking. I'm glad if I don't have to muddy the water by having that brought up!
