Hi guys/gals,
So, the good news is I am finished with all my credits for a Business degree at Excelsior, thanks to this forum and the InstaCert flashcards. And I'll be putting up a post to describe my short journey once I have my official degree in hand, as I think I do have a couple insights that would be helpful to others. I also plan to start on my master's degree at WGU as soon as my bachelor's is conferred.
But here's my question: What happens in between this moment and the moment that my degree is conferred?
I checked my "Maplanner" and academic plan on Excelsior and it does show that my progress is done, no more required credits. But, what do I do now? My adviser said to "just wait", but I think you all understand, after all these rush tests and studying, waiting is probably the hardest thing to do.
Can someone who has gone through the entire process let me know what happens next? What's the timeline from the moment that I finish my last credit until I officially have my degree? Is there anything in the ways of paperwork/fees/etc. that I will have to prepare for?
Any info would help to settle my paranoid mind, as I think knowing the steps that are coming will calm it down a bit.
Thanks!

Congratulations, hard work pays. I am also awaiting my degree conferral from TESC (not Excelsior). What I did was to ask multiple advisors to cross-check my degree plan and completed works to be sure everything was okay as I wouldn't want to be caught by any surprise that, even though I completed 120 credits, I didn't fulfill a particular requirement for award of the degree. After getting a nod from them, I submitted an Application to Graduate form, pay the graduation fee, and waited for the letter that states that I was certified fit to graduate. With this, I relaxed and began to strike out the date on my wall calendar in anticipation of the d-day.

Congratulations! I don't know anything about Excelsior's graduation process. Do they require a graduation application/fee?
Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.

I just finished last week - and my advisor said to wait and it would all be done automatically. After stressing and studying and stressing and scheduling tests... I find waiting very difficult!

Wow! Congratulations to all of the college graduates in this thread! That is awesome!
At EC, my official evaluation was completed by my advisor. It was then confirmed for a graduation evaluation. That just took a few days, and I was given an official conferral date, which was about 2 months away. In about a month, you'll get the paperwork you need for your diploma, transcript, and graduation fee. Your diploma will be mailed the day of your conferral, and it will arrive within a week. It is such a great feeling to see your own name on a college diploma!
Congratulations graduates!!!!!

I am still waiting for my grades as well, my adviser told me she has not received the grades from the instructors yet... my instructor is Larry for the capstone business, by any chance we were in the same class?

I think it may be the same class. BUS 495, Dr. Larry, ended on 8/24? I saw an official grade for that last week on Blackboard, and my progress page was updated yesterday showing no other credits needed.
Thanks, NAP for the response. A whole month for the degree conferral sucks, I was hoping it would be faster as I wanted to get started on my Master's degree as soon as possible. Oh well, I guess I'll do some reading ahead of time.
