Excelsior coming out with a real Emergency Management degree in 2016
#1
I just received this from the Excelsior College School of Public Service:

"We are creating a BS in Emergency Management, and have lots of things in the works in regards to FEMA credits, but there has not been a timeline set as to when that program will debut. My guess would be calendar year 2016."

This would be great! Tons of ACE/TEEX, NFA, EMI courses get unused because 99% of most college EM degrees do NOT follow Federal EM course standards.:ack: They all do their own thing.banghead I wish FEMA thru EMI would just create their own degrees like the CCAF does. I look forward to seeing what things Excelsior is thinking of in FEMA credits.

Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun.   Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior.  And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.

My exact thinking also, but depending on HOW they structure it?

This is really great news. I work in Emergency Management and might look into getting a second BS. I already have a ton of FEMA credits, so it will be interesting to see how they factor in.

I hope this comes true. I have 32 credits through NYPD Police Academy, 40 through FEMA, and a ton of different ones through NYS Fire Academy and Nassau County Fire Academy. I want to use up as much of these as I can in a degree.
