Argh, so I perused the FEMA site and considered taking some of them for a little extra credit padding, but decided against it because they all looked boring. Open up my Terrorism class syllabus to discover that I am required to take 4 of them!! Not only does this mean I actually have to do them, it means that I can't use them as a last ditch effort to squeeze in more credits :ack:

Well.....I guess the up side is that terrorism is social science (?) and FEMA is free elective, so you're laundering 4 free electives into a gen ed
Yeah, lame up side. But I tried.

But on the other hand being bored for a few hours and a free credit us better then being bored for lots of hours and expensive credit.
There are plenty of FEMA credits and you never know what you might find that becomes interesting. Just because you have to do 4 for the class doesn't mean you can't do others for free electives.

Yeah, but I think I will have an abundance of free electives and not so much stuff that actually applies to my major, unless TESC will be more generous than I am anticipating about using applied credits. I hadn't really checked in to whether any FEMA's could be used as major credits.
I'll probably survive either way

For the FEMA credits, how do you turn those into your school for credit? I see where there is an option of paying $75/per course and getting credit from em-study.com, but is this the norm? I am speaking more specifically of obtaining credit through EC. So far 6 completed, not enrolled yet but just wondering for future reference.

I believe that with EC they have to be "transcribed" or some such thing through ACE or something. I know TESC accepts them raw.

See if this thread might help
http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...lsior.html. You need to get FEMA credits transcribed and then sent to EC.
