Feedback on TESC BA SC degree plan
#1
Below is an outline of a BA CS degree I am looking to get from TESC. I have a couple of questions and was hoping someone here could help. Smile

1. I have the MAT-121-CE College Algebra CLEP under the Natural Sciences/Mathematics part of the degree. I also wanted to take the MAT-115-DE Fundamentals of College Algebra DSST for general electives. My concern is that they are very similar. Would they both count if I took them, or would TESC only let me count one of those as credit?

2. Any idea if I can take the COS-101-DE Introduction to Computing DSST instead of the TESC course Introduction to Computers (COS-101) in the core requirements?

3. I believe I understand that you need 18 upper level credits in your major. I have 6 courses in the 300 and higher. However, only 3 of them are COS courses. Two are CIS courses and that last in the capstone. Do the CIS and capstone work in giving the upper level credit toward the CS degree?

4. Any other thoughts/issues/problems pop out at you as you see the degree plan here? (Your feedback is most welcome Smile )

Thanks!

I believe you can use the DSST MIS exam and there is a TECEP that you can use, I think it's networking or something to that fashion. I was looking into it recently.
CLEPS Passed: 10 DSST Passed: 11 TECEPS: 1

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.

Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.

Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.

Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.

Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.
