Future NCCRS course provider
#31
I emailed them a while back with no response.
They've added more courses on the NCCRS site, I think they're up to 40. I don't remember how but I did set up an account with them.

Fun story, 2 months ago I checked my account and out of the blue it gave me the option to take an accounting 1 test and I did. It displays as completed on my account but doesn't give a score, so no idea if I passed.

Too funny!

I just had a “gotcha” moment. I’m 99% sure it’s Coopersmith. Why? Well how many providers offer a Sociology of Jewish Foods course with 3 Upper level credits?

Coopersmith:
Credit Recommendation:
In the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 3 semester hours in Judaic Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Jewish History, Religion, Nutritional Science, or as General Elective (6/13)(8/18 revalidation).

CIS:
Credit recommendation:
In the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 3 semester hours in Sociology, Jewish Studies, Anthropology, History, or Religion (8/18).

MNomadic: maybe you should sign into Coopersmith and see if that exam shows up?

I wish more of these companies would use ACE instead of NCCRS, or I wish NCCRS would offer a similar transcript service that ACE does. That way a student still has a record and gets credit for classes completed even if a given company goes out of business. I actively avoid NCCRS classes unless there is absolutely no other alternative to them.

It's the cost, no question. ACE is very expensive.

I created an account a while back-- and still shows NOTHING. Excuse the ignorance-- where are we suppose to be able to take some of these courses??

Well the website still says it's under construction.

Haha, I caught this a couple days ago when I was going through the new Coopersmith courses I posted. The course descriptions are essentially identical to, aside from both being UL. I  think you're right.

I was joking when i said this was just Torah CC/TorCC/Tor Academy/Davar Academy under a different name, but there's almost some truth to this. Tor/Davar started as the web-front for Coopersmith before spinnng off on to it's own thing, and now it looks like we're seeing another Coopersmith spinoff. I wonder what the actual back-end relationship is between all of these smaller shells.

I hope there is no Coopersmith drama, my son needs a handful of those for his degree.

Yeah I suspect they are related. Not sure why they all seem to keep fragmenting. I'd think it would be easiest to just focus on 1 site/organization to house all their courses or at most 2 sites/organizations if they wanted to separate religious courses from secular ones.

This new company offers many of the same courses as Coopersmith, a handful of new ones, but the UL/LL is different on many of them.

The good news is, they are going to offer BUS-212: Advanced Financial Management which comes in as UL - so that will be a cheap/easy way to complete the final requirement for TESU's BSBA in Finance.
