Getting VOC Rehab to pay for testing out of degree
#1
So today I had another meeting, and seemed to have fulfilled the requirements for my states VOC Rehab program based on a disability. So if I pass the test should be reimbursed. I would encourage anyone with a disability to attempt to apply for this if you qualify.

Chiming in here. I've mentioned this a few times but the Dept of Vocational Rehab paid about the last $1,700 I needed to complete my degree at TESU. I didn't have to take any tests, just signed releases for them to get my medical reports for the MRI. Beyond medical issues though, any DSM-5 (mental/depression/addiction including marijuana & alcohol) diagnosis will qualify people for DVR assistance. I went a year not getting any help from them, switched case managers twice during moves & then found out my first case manager never drafted a rehab plan - which is why she never got anything done. Getting with an effective case manager is key!

They normally only pay for in-state universities, but I provided evidence that TESU was cheaper & faster. They wrote me checks (3 over a year) which I deposited into my bank account, provided them receipts for classes/books and then showed them proof of the credits received when the coursework was completed.
