Getting back into the swing of math
#1
Hi Yall !

I am taking math for the first time since high school which was about 7 years ago. I started doing the flash cards but it always makes sense then when I get a bit further it all seems like gibberish. Anyone have suggestions for a book that I can read up a bit along with the flashcards? I am taking intro College Math The Clep

What worked for me was to go to YouTube and search for the specific topic, the specific kind of problem I needed to review. There were always lots of results from different teachers.
BSBA/Accounting TESU (2016). MSA UIUC (2018).

Need help with portfolios? I earned 18 credits at TESU through portfolio evaluations. Nine of those were for upper level accounting courses. My advice for PLA/portfolios: TESU portfolio tips The first post has the Portfolio Checklist I created. Page ten has the actual narrative I wrote to receive credit for ACC-440.

Using Straighterline's Financial Accounting as a substitute for TESU's Intermediate Accounting I? Don't do it if you are an accounting major and/or want your CPA license. They are not the same course and I think TESU has erred in accepting the SL course as Intermediate I. I made this discovery here: Intermediate Accounting II.

Khan Academy is one of the best sources for explaining concepts, although it is video rather than written.

I prefer

I think Khan seems to go off topic sometimes

I studied through Holt Algebra by Eugene Nichols and found it very easy to follow and learn from. After I finished the book I took part 1 of the math placement exam on the university of Hawaii's site and I was able to answer 18 out of the 20 questions correctly. The two I couldn't answer contained material that was not covered in the book. I think if you want to learn basic algebra it is a fantastic text.
