MSCS options?
#1
I have one more class to finish before starting my TESU capstone and cornerstone. I'm primarily looking at MSCS options with a concentration in data science or big data since that would option up new jobs but the concentration isn't required.

I'm mainly pursuing a graduate degree to immigrate. Many countries offer the most points to Masters holders. A masters would be great for a job, too. My undergraduate will be in Liberal Studies - Math and Natural Sciences. At the moment the top contenders are:

University of West Florida https://onlinedegrees.uwf.edu/online-deg...r-science/
Mississippi State University https://online.msstate.edu/cse/
University of Sunderland https://online.sunderland.ac.uk/online-c...a-science/
Wrexham Glyndwr University https://online.glyndwr.ac.uk/msc-compute...analytics/

I'm debating if the UK programs would look unusual on my resume to US or foreign employers. They both look great and I like that I can pay for each module as I go, thereby eliminating the need for loans.

I've been a software engineer for 3 years and while I've had a nice career without a degree, a CS degree would increase my opportunities.

Any opinions or other schools are more than welcome.

I don't think a degree from the UK would look bad or unusual. Those are nice prices, too.

did that include linear algebra ?
if it didn't you might have a difficult time finding a school that will admit you into a data science concentration

Yes. I took a lot of math but not quite enough enough for a math degree. I took linear algebra knowing I'd need it for a masters.

This is not my area but here are a couple of choices that are down at the lower end of the expense continuum
Master’s Degree in Data Science (edx.org)
Data Science | University of London
My sense is that there are LOTS of choices so you shouldn't have to compromise much in your final decision.  Good luck

There are plenty of options in the US and UK, all under 10K-15K if you search for them, I also highly recommend the MOOC options with Cousera, Edx, FutureLearn, Udacity and Upgrad... you should do a search on the forum, I pointed to these. Fort Hays, has a MSCS degree as well as many more, here's an example of a post of mine: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...rad-credit and the MOOC's, here's a recent post: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid333347
