Great Books
#11
This is not a perfect fit for this discussion but I thought I'd throw it out there for anyone interested.  The programs at St. John's College are all "great books" programs BUT, they cannot be completed entirely online.  It's a "low residency" thing.  Also, they're probably fairly expensive (I didn't check).

When we visited the Naval Academy, the person talked about St. John's (it's right down the street), and said that they meet weekly for Socratic discussions.  I'm not certain how that would be "low residency"?

Yeah, I don't know how they define the term low residency.  I know they have a version of the degree program that is 100% on campus and then an online version that requires some campus time.  I think it's pretty clear that you'd have to live within striking distance of the school in order to make it work.

I am going to do MA in Humanities at American Public University.

I just noticed that the Wikipedia article now redirects to "Classic books", which isn't quite the same thing at all. All Great Books are classics, not all classics are Great Books.
