HELP!!! TESC Managerial Communications
#1
I need your help! I am trying to meet the TESC "Business /Managerial Communications" requirements for the BSBA. I would like to have my degree conferred by December, so I think I need all my credits transcripted by October 1st. Does anyone know a self-paced/independent study course that will meet this requirement? ..and that can be completed within 30 days? I have checked with Penn Foster but they no longer have the Business Communications course that is listed on ACE national. I have also considered BYU, but there are many submission/grading time issues which will extend the course to 2 or more months.

I would greatly appreciate any help or advice.

Mae.

I don't know anything faster, but I can tell you that the TESC Managerial Communications is an easy course. 6 short papers. I have 4 weeks left of it.

The only thing I can suggest is the PLA through TESC. I have heard that sometimes you can get a PLA accomplished within 3 weeks if you can demonstrate solid knowledge of the topic.

Hi Mae:

You don't have to have your TESC grades transcripted by the deadline...you only have to have completed your requirements and applied for graduation. My final grade did not appear until just over a week before the June graduation date but I had applied by the April 1 deadline and was able to graduate. Such close calls are handled on a case-by-case basis (I was regularly in touch with the school from the moment I finished my last exam) but they try to be accommodating.

Best of luck,
Pattie

There does not appear to be a CLEP, DSST, ECE, or TECEP to fulfill the Business/Managerial Communications requirement for any of Thomas Edison BSBA programs. A little digging revealed one potential option however.

Ohio Univeristy does have several exams that yield credit with a sufficient score. For $267 a Business Communications 1 can be taken. Its worth 4 quarter hours (2.33 semester hours), and seems to be relatively easy just by looking at the description.

I make no claims as to the ease or difficulty of this exam. I've never taken an exam from Ohio Univeristy and likely never will. Just the same, I'm sure some of you will find this of interest:

Ohio Univeristy Credit by Exam:
Ohio University Course Credit by Examination

Business Communications 1:
OTEC 130 LR 3/01
CLEP exams passed:
Management, Accounting, Marketing, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics

DSST exams passed:
Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior, Statistics, Management Information Systems

Earned:
B.A. in Business Administration: Technology Management from Saint Leo University

M.S. in Leadership: Business Ethics from Duquesne University

I also found a business communication class at a local CC that TESC accepted for fulfilling the requirement. Mine was under the Administrative Assistant program, but your local CC may differ. In-state residency made it a very affordable solution.
I m edumakated thanx to distunce lerning.

I found a Business Writing course at Penn Foster(Eng 121). TESC has approved the class to fulfill the business communication requirement. The cost is $200, this includes course materials. There are 6 assignments that you email in, I have had them all graded in less than 3 business days. I would recommend taking this class.
