Hi all. Please forgive the newbie questions, but TBH this is all a bit overwhelming - a lot of info to take in. The basics: I'm a professional with about 20 years of experience in retail management and training, without a college degree. I have about 20 credits from junior college, but that's about it. At this point in my life I'm looking for an accredited degree as quickly as possible, as my plan is to work in Japan, possibly teaching English - which requires a bachelors degree. What I'd like is to get that bachelor's through some combination of life experience credit, transferring my jc credits, and testing (CLEP, DANTES, TECEP, whatever I need). And to do so as quickly as possible.
So as I said, what I'm hoping is to get the flood of possibilities narrowed down to something manageable - which school is the best option for someone in my position, what the basic roadmap looks like, etc. I have a couple of professional certifications (food safety, etc) and have been a classroom trainer as well as on-site, and have managed both at the retail and district level. I figure all that experience will likely net me something, but assume most of the credits are going to come through testing. In terms of degree, I'm somewhat flexible - but I'm thinking something in the liberal arts, possibly English or Poly Sci.
Thanks in advance!
Dan
