another way to possibly earn college credits
#1
I found another way to possibly earn some cheap credits. TeamTreehouse has a three classes listed as being NCCRS and/or ACE approved. The classes are "Introduction to HTML and CSS", "Introduction to JavaScript", and "Programming in Python". It seems pretty easy.  You take the course, pass the final exam and project assignment. Then you pay $35 to access your college credit transcript via Credly, and then send them off to the school. The $35 would be on top of your TeamTreehouse subscription. I didn't see any mention that you had to be on a specific plan so I'm assuming the $25/month one would work.

They've teamed up with University Pathways International (https://www.upistudy.com/). I did a quick search on UPI. TESU, WGU, and PUG are all listed. I didn't see Charter Oak or UMPI. I didn't find any mention of UPI on WGU's website but I didn't dive in too deep.

UPI also has a subscription for the United States (or a one time payment is available + available to international students) for a variety of classes.

I don't know anything about UPI or how the credits would transfer over (if they even do!) but I happened to stumble upon it when doing research and thought I'd pass it along. I thought someone might like to investigate further and/or test it out. I tried searching the forum for any mention of either and nothing recently for Treehouse (and it was about bootcamps, not college credit) so I apologize if this is common knowledge.

In short... $35+$25=$60 for 3 credits is a good price, if the prospective student is interested in getting some boot camp experience, this might suffice. At $180 for 9 credits, it's similar to getting a subscription for StraighterLine and only getting 1 class, but this is giving you 3...

I don't know why TeamTreehouse would get in bed with an absolute bottom of the barrel company like UPI.

Tired... or Tiered.. I think they're both when the student wants to ladder them into a degree, use the trifecta of cost, ease, speed and the other trifecta of certs, degree, experience, to maximize your mix/match balance. I would mix/match A+B, find the extra ROI/Value, and customize or personalize your studies, get a particular number of entry level professional certs, a degree of your choice, and some experience in the industry you're wanting to be in.
