How Strict Is ProctorU?
#1
So, I have read random posts and stories that mention ProctorU is quite strict in regards to your bedroom arrangement and I’m curious about the validity of that?  So, I am using a PC I built and a webcam for my proctored exams and wanting to make sure I go about this properly since I don’t have a laptop to move around, nor can they allow iPads as a laptop (which blows my mind).  My monitor is a 55-inch 4K TV and is on my bedroom dresser, so I normally hold my keyboard & mouse on my bed & lap because I don’t have a traditional desk at the moment (don’t judge me).  I have a mini-fridge and my bed, as well as my bookshelf that contains a lot of my important items.  Under my TV is my sound bar & PS4 Pro, so my question is: how strict are they going to be with that setup?  I’m about to pay for a SL membership and want to ensure I won’t have any issues.

This will not be a problem. If you want to, you can contact proctoru an ask the technician. https://test-it-out.proctoru.com/ (scroll down)

Thanks for that!  I just reached out and they weren’t willing to help much due to being at work and not able to give me answers to my questions based on how I described my room.  All they said was “just make sure there aren’t any course materials that you aren’t permitted to have in that area”.  They tried cutting off the conversation before I could even read their reply to ask a second question.  XD

As long as you are clearly visible and there are no other people or unpermitted materials in the room you'll be fine. Smile
