Hi Chet, Management Information Systems is an upper level exam, so you can expect it to be quite thorough. However, this is an exam for which Instantcert alone will definitely suffice. If you know the material covered by Instantcert, you will be fine on this exam. Do a google search for any terms/concepts you need more exposure to. I found this to be one of the easier upper level exams I have taken so far. The 70% military pass rate bears this out. Of course, you DO still need to prepare well for it. I work as a computer analyst. But started studing for the Dsst Infor Management Sys. last night. it does seem hard. I need one credit hour to finish college.
Which is the easiest test here are my choices- Dsst Here's to your Health Information Management Sys. Drugs and Alcohol - waiting for results ? CLEP Analizing Interp Lit - failed 48 ? I would love to take a CLEP and get the grade back ASAP. What test are easy? Any suggestions would be nice. BTW- I do not have much time to prepare for a test

Chet, Since you work in the field, MIS would seem to be a good choice. Here's to Your Health is probably the easiest exam on your list but you might actually find MIS to be easier to prepare for because you are already familiar with the subject at hand. As far as immediate scoring goes, the following CLEPs are relatively easy and studying Instantcert for a while will all but ensure a pass: Intro to Sociology Information Systems & Computer Applications Intro to Psychology Principles of Management Or you could just take one of the FEMA courses. They are open book, untimed, online, 25-50 questions (depending on the course) quizzes. You take the test by reading the question and then researching the answer in the pdf file they provide. Once you have passed, you can then translate the course into one college credit by sending $60 and a registration form to Frederick Community College. You could literally have your final credit over and done with by this time tomorrow. A friend of mine just completed his final two credits for Excelsior through this option. Here's the link to the FEMA Independent Study web site, in case you are interested: http://emergencymanagementstudy.com/content/default.asp Best of luck, Snazzlefrag

Chet, I took the MIS exam recently. It was not exactly easy, but I scored 75. I am in IT management (8 yrs). If I were in your situation, I would go for the CLEP Information Systems exam. It is very basic, much more so that the DSST MIS. You will get your score immediately instead of having to wait and given your background, it should take less prep time to pass. You can use IC exclusively. One or two passes through should do the trick. I have been through it, but did it as a supplement (as recommended) for the DSST MIS exam. Go for it, you should not have a problem with it.

definitely intro to computers or sociology clep for the easiest on your list. if you don't need the upper level, dont take the MIS. I didn't find it as easy as the pass rate impies. It includes organizational concepts that don't seem as though they would be encountered in a daily IT work environment.
