Here's a review of the course I took from LSU.
ACCT 4022 - Advanced Accounting
Final Grade - B

>> There is no minimum time limit for this course and the maximum time limit is 9 months. Obviously, the course can be complete in much less time. There are limits on how often assignments can be submitted which I will mention below.
>> You sign up for the course through the link above for the syllabus under "Enroll Now". It's pretty straightforward. Total for the class is $559. The syllabus link above gives a breakdown of the cost.
>> After you sign up and pay, they will send you an email telling you that your request has been received. Couple days later and you'll get an email with your enrollment number and information about logging in to the course.
>> The textbook for this course is listed on the syllabus. I bought mine used off amazon for about $5. Doupnik: Books Just a reminder, be sure to check the syllabus because the textbook could change at any time and you don't want to get the wrong textbook.
>> There are 12 lessons in this course with assignments that are submitted for each one. You will complete the entire textbook during this course. The lessons are online or they can be downloaded to read offline. Mostly there is a paragraph about the chapter and a list of the required problems for the assignment. There is also a link to an online study site that has chapter quizzes and slides for each chapter. In addition, they give you check figures for figuring out the homework. These were a lifesaver for me!! It helps you to make sure that you are on the right track with your work.
>> Lesson assignments are submitted online. They have a limit of only 3 assignments per 7 day period so pay attention to that when submitting work. After the instructor graded them, he mails a copy back to you with the grade.
>> There are 2 exams - a midterm and a final. These are proctored so you will need to submit a proctor request form to LSU in enough time to have your exam sent out. The exams were 3 hours, I believe. The midterm covers Chapters 1-6 and the final covers 7-12. They had multiple choice questions as well as a few short answer questions. I found both the exams to be very hard and I did not score well on the midterm at all. I did slightly better on the final, but only by a little. You must pass the exams with a C or higher to pass the class.
>> The online part of the course that you are given access to after you sign up has a lot of instructions on formatting the assignments so be sure to read those.
>> The instructor for this class was pretty good. He graded quickly and was willing to explain any answers you got wrong on your assignments. I think it took about a week after the school received the exams for them to be graded.
>> As far as the actual course, it is not an easy course. It's advanced! I found myself really having to read and re-read the information to understand it.
