This is terrible advice, IMO. Not everyone is going to mesh well with every professor. There is nothing wrong with looking for a professor whose teaching style better meshes with your own wants/desires. Sure, anyone "can" do "anything" for 12 weeks but why add extra stress when it's unnecessary?
I completely agree with rachel83az. It's the axiom of working smarter, which is one way to be successful in employment. Another is to do your due diligence.
