Looking for guidance regarding TX graduate schools
#1
Hi!

I'm 19 and I have graduated rather recently from WGU with a bachelors in marketing. I really enjoyed my experience and would love to further my studies. I am currently working on the ENEB/Universidad Isabel I masters in Business and professional communication, but would love to obtain an MPA. This leads me to my question: Are there any relatively affordable MPA programs within the State of Texas that can be completed online? I am certainly sorry if this question has been asked a thousand times before!

MPA can be either a master of public administration or a master of professional accountancy. Which one do you want?

19 and already have a bachelor's degree? Wow! That's awesome. You must have worked really hard to finish so many credits so close to finishing high school.

It was super hard, but all of the hard work paid off! I was able to take a good chunk of the classes via Straighterline, Sophia, Study.com, and a local community college before transferring into WGU. It was also a bit difficult due to the fact that I am actually the first person in my family to attend college, so I had to try and figure out most things regarding college by myself.

Truthfully, I couldn't have done it without my family! They cheered me on constantly and made sure that I never lost sight of my goal.

Just curious, is the MPA your final destination/educational goal? Because you're such a young'un - I wouldn't rush the masters degree just yet, since you're already using the Universidad Isabel I (ENEB learning options), I would finish those first and then decide. In fact, since you went with WGU, you might want to consider another degree from them, a MSML/MBA (both are ACBSP). You may want to save your cash/time on experience - while working, get the company to pay for your MPA or if you decide to get up that academic chain, get them to pay a portion of your DBA and/or PhD.
In Progress: Walden MBA | TESU BA Biology & Computer Science
Graduate Certificate: Global Management & Entrepreneurship, ASU (Freebie)

Completed: TESU ASNSM Biology, BSBA (ACBSP Accredited 2017)
Universidad Isabel I: ENEB MBA, Big Data & BI, Digital Marketing & E-Commerce
Certs: 6Sigma/Lean/Scrum, ITIL | Cisco/CompTIA/MTA | Coursera/Edx/Udacity

Lamar University has the best/lowest cost for an online MPA program, and it happens to be in TX (public university)

https://degree.lamar.edu/programs/master...istration/
Amberton University
- MS Human Relations and Business - 2022
Thomas Edison State University (TESU)
- BSBA General Management - 2018
- ASNSM Computer Science -2018

University of Texas, Permian Basin has a reasonably priced MPA: https://degree.utpb.edu/programs/online-...px#tuition

Not TX schools, but Valdosta State and Arkansas State both have reasonably priced MPAs for out of state students.

This website isn’t updated constantly, I know some of their prices are out of date, but it’s a great starting place: https://www.geteducated.com/online-colle...c-affairs/

And Arkansas State and Valdosta State are both NASPAA accredited.  I don't know this field at all, so I don't know if it matters much, but neither Lamar or UTPB are so accredited.  List of accredited programs: https://www.naspaa.org/sites/default/fil...5.2020.pdf
