Looking for two courses
#1
Question
Hey all!

I'm almost done putting together my curriculum and course-equivalency spreadsheets for my pursuits. I'll share once I've polished them up a bit.

I'm down to two courses that I need for APU's Bachelor of Science in Mathematics program:

Scientific Writing: https://www.amu.apus.edu/course-schedule...?c=ENGL221
History of Mathematics: https://www.apus.edu/course-schedule/det...?c=MATH360

Anyone have suggestions of where I could pursue an online self-paced course for either of the above?

The latter being the most important of the two (if I had to, Scientific Writing would probably be an easy course)

Thanks all!
Mike

I'm not aware of any self-paced Scientific Writing being offered anywhere. I don't remember seeing it all before, to be honest, but I haven't been looking for it.

TESU has History of Mathematics but I think APU is cheaper. I don't think that it's taught in a self-paced format anywhere.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

This is the only self-paced course for history of mathematics it's kinda expensive at $225 per credit.

APU's courses are pretty fairly priced, and all of our self-paced options are either similarly priced or even higher.  Not sure why you wouldn't just take it at APU?

The $1,840 for two courses might break the bank on this person's budget, and/or they thought they could find cheaper alternatives. I'm at APUS now and am trying everything in my power to take only the required 10 courses there. Unfortunately other institutions have SO much red tape just to take one course as a non-degree student that I'll probably end up paying full freight on more than the 10 just for simplicity's sake. I'm tired of filling out applications with the details of every school, and sending all these transcripts with one course each. At some point it's not worth the aggravation! /rant over
