I have another idea worth considering. Fort Hays State University has a 9-credit graduate certificate in grant writing, for just over $3k. It's a related course of study, quite common for MPAs to pursue, and a bonus certificate for you to show off along with your degree.

Here's another *possible* source:

There are many great-looking programs and certificates here, including math, science, statistics, fundraising. There is a potential issue in that these are considered post-baccalaureate professional courses. UCSD uses a numbering system in which 1-199 is undergraduate level. 200-299 is graduate level. These courses are 40000-49999 or 400-499. Some of the programs have links to master's programs in which some of the courses can be transferred.

The beautiful thing here is that the courses all seem to transcript with subject area prefixes. There are many that would probably apply to an MPA. The prices are good if compared to graduate level credit - if these can be considered graduate credit.
I have to say that a one-year, three-course, nine-credit biostatistics certificate for $2175 at UCSD sounds really great.

Wow! And these are grad credit too, I wonder if they'll transfer to ACE.edu or something towards their Masters/Doctoral degrees...
