Hello. I am new to the forums and was curious if there are other cleps, dantes etc...for English. I have English Comp 101, which was taken MANY years ago, and currently need another English. What ones do any of you suggest? Not sure if I want to take a test that requires an essay, but I may have to, if that is required. Thanks so much!

I took the english composition with the essay and thought the test wasn't that hard. If you are good at grammer and word usage (unlike me) than you should do fine with that one.

CLEP has two English Comp exams available for you to take. English Comp (either with or without the essay. Essay is graded by CLEP), and Freshman College Composition (either with or without the essay. Essay is graded by your school's faculty). Each exam is pass/fail and is worth 6 credits if you pass (ie, first and second semester English Comp).
You need to make sure your school will accept one of these exams to cover your English requirement. You should also confirm whether they require the version with essay, or without.
Good luck,
