Mandate for professions in several states
#1
I had a friend call me earlier today, she quit her job over this mandate and is getting ready for other jobs in different "non healthcare" and non customer/people facing fields... Not sure anyone on the board is affected... I am not affected. About half of the country is affected, the listed states are in the article at the bottom.

Affected professions and such... Link: COVID-19 vaccination mandates in the United States - Wikipedia

It makes a whole lot of sense to fire nurses for not being vaccinated and then make them report to work when they test positive like in California.

It’s a horrible situation we are all in these days. In part because we are all so self-centered.

I work in a hospital
the vaccinations were required, the booster was required
get them or be fired

i got them

I got the vaccinations last year -- 12 hours later had a fever of 102

called in sick the next day

they said i had to get tested for covid
i said I don't have covid, I was feeling great before I got the shot -- this is just a reaction to the vaccination
they didn't care, said i have to go to the emergency room and get tested
I said if I felt well enough to go to get on the subway and go to the hospital and emergency room and get tested then I would feel well enough to get on the subway and go to the hospital and emergency room and go to work

they didn't care - so i went to the ER, got tested, went home and waited for the test to come back negative and still had to quarantine for 48 hours after

same thing happened after the booster 2 weeks ago (on a thursday) -- except this time when I called in sick on friday I didn't want to go through that hassle again so I said "I ate something that didn't agree with me"

they said "ok, no problem"

took friday and the weekend off -- felt great saturday morning

stupid rules

Bluebooger…. I totally get it. My husband works in a hospital. He also has seasonal allergies. He was feeling a bit off one day so he called in sick. A little time would have told if it was allergies. But he had to go through the whole testing and waiting process. He has to get a certification from HR to get back to work. He would have been better off to say he injured his foot or something. Allergy meds kicked in and he was fine.
