Modern States - still free?

Also, I think they're trying to move to a web form instead of directly emailing people:

Awesome, thank you so much!

I received my testing fee reimbursement check today! Cool ( I submitted for the reimbursement about 2 1/2 weeks ago.) Since I took two CLEP exams via Modern States, I received two letters from Founder and CEO Steven Klinsky congratulating me on passing the CLEP exam, and notifying me that my reimbursement check was enclosed. BTW, I received one check with the total for the two reimbursements.

I'm still a little fuzzy here. Do you fill out the voucher request form/email Sadie before you take the test and then hope you get it in time? Do you schedule your test then request or do you schedule the test after you receive your voucher? Or, with how long it could possibly take do you make the requests, do you take the tests and if you had to pay because the voucher didn't arrive in time they'll reimburse you with proof of receipt?

Yeah, it may not come in time for someone in a big hurry. Mostly I got a voucher within a few days.

You have to register after getting the voucher, because you use it to make the fee $0.

But scheduling with a test center is separate from registering with College Board (the CLEP organization). For most or all test centers, you can schedule before registering.

I don't know about the reimbursement. Someone who posted above seemed to be in the process of doing so.

If you pay for the $85 CLEP ticket on your own, without using their voucher, Modern States won't reimburse you. Someone on Reddit mentioned trying that, and Modern States wouldn't give them a reimbursement. They only reimburse for the proctor/testing fee. The testing center that you will go to take the CLEP test is the place that will charge you that proctor/testing fee (usually between $20 - $40). They'll give you a receipt after you pay for the proctor/testing fee, and then you have to scan/take photo of the receipt and sent it to Modern States requesting a reimbursement here : https://modernstates.org/test-center-reimbursement/

P.S. Upload your test score paper, along with the proctor receipt, because they ask for the test score too.

Is there a time limit on the voucher/registration? That is, if I take the MS course, and request the voucher, how quickly do I have to register, and is that in conjunction with the test center registration, or can I register via the College Board and then later take that registration to the local test center to set up a test date?

Once you turn in the voucher (or pay for the CLEP), you have 6 months to register and take the exam.
