Almost finished with M2, I took several months to read the new testament the amount of times needed. I;m a first responder, so Corona slowed me down, not to mention my country has elections this year, so we must work extra.
What is helpful in understanding the Bible though is "BibleProject" on Youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0BrP8bq...3zHdhY2kPR
After watching these videos, I read the books of the bible. Learning all the names and places and their associations is very time consuming, I'm working full time plus doing other things (working on a third book, personal projects) so my time is extremely limited. I do try to squeeze in a day a week or so to only this MTS.
I found the exams to be rather challenging. There are 27 books for M2 and they can quote or give an excerpt from any book and expect you to be able to identify it by name. It also makes me worried about the first comprehensive exam, it will be on the first two courses, which is basically the whole Bible, the stories and concepts are easy to remember, but all those names and places, I'm a bit worried about that.
Being in tech for a long time I focused on concepts and actually understanding what is going on rather that pure memorization. I found that that is not as useful here, it calls a for a lot of memorization (names, places etc) and it's really pushing me outside of my comfort zone. It's hard to memorize exact places and names and the entire Bible basically, but that's what college is about.
I only have my two papers to write, I'm actually looking forward to these essays, as I think I understand the "big picture" view which is what these essays are demanding. I'll update here when I finish.
