Need RA degree for work please HELP!!!
#1
All,
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. I am needing a bachelors degree to advance in my career. Sadly I have over 130hrs in college education but no degree. At this point I am indifferent in what the degree is actually in I just need the paper stating it is complete. Listed below are all the classes I have completed. Thanks again for any help!!!

Dan

Location: Oklahoma, United States.
Your Age: 36
What kind of degree do you want?: RA Bachelors degree. My undergrad is all over the place. I figure my best bed is probably LA or Interdisciplinary but I am open to any suggestions. I work for the federal gov't and have hit the ceiling as far as advancement goes without a degree.

There are errors with your copy/paste as several courses have duplicates... Anyways, your best bet is exactly what you mentioned, a Bachelors Liberal Studies. I would suggest applying to UMPI and transferring all of these to their degree BLS and select a concentration/minor. You will get all 90 credits completed, my only question is, are any of these "upper level"? If so, you may want to see if COSC would be a better option for their BSGS (General Studies). The cost should be very close for either/or...

I see only a handful of credits that might be UL, but I'm not sure. If you have 10 or fewer UL credits, UMPI is probably going to be fastest/easiest. Otherwise, you might want to consider COSC if you have 20+ UL credits.

I agree with rachel83az, you have at most 11cr of UL (including the capstone), so you need 19cr more (so really probably 21cr); since you have to choose a concentration at COSC, you're looking at taking 19cr of something, and Study.com is really the only place you can go to get those, so you'd have to choose Psych, of which there are only 15cr UL, then you'd have to figure out how Psych and Lit would work as a concentration, and it just becomes too difficult.

Instead, if you went to UMPI for a BLS degree, you could jump right in and just take 3 GEC's (Creative Decision Making, a US history course, and either PoliSci, Philosophy or Ethics, whichever is easiest to get for 5D), then take your 6 minor courses, then an additional elective, and you're done. This does not include any UL you need, so I guess if you wanted to take Ethics and US history through Sophia (only $40 right now), you could easily then have room for more UL at UMPI.

The other option is Excelsior to get your BSL: go to Study.com and take 1 UL Ethics course, 3 more UL from the Arts & Sciences, and 2 UL from A&S or Business, then go there and take your 3 courses (UL cornerstone, UL capstone and InfoLit), and you're done. More expensive than COSC, but much easier as you don't need a concentration.

What school are all those PRM courses from, they appear to be UL - if I counted right you have 29 of them?

Also, you may want to apply now for the 'Pierpont BOG AAS' (Free associates degree - many posts here on it), you may be able to turn that into a path for the UMPI BAS and utilize those UL credits you already have (if they are as they seem to be, based on their numbering alone). I missed those!

Unfortunately, at COSC, you need more UL in the Liberal Arts; but at EC, that means just 4 UL A&S courses - 1 UL Ethics and then 3 UL other.

Course numbers don't necessarily mean they're LL or UL at some schools. Many of these credits will transfer as general electives at most schools and as LL.

Marching Band and Rock Climbing are 4000's. No way anywhere will those transfer as UL. And internships rarely seem to transfer.

Not true - if they are truly UL courses, generally TESU and EC will bring them in as UL.

I've taken phys ed classes and they've never transferred anywhere as UL. Some class numbers are given those numbers because they're limited to certain grade levels taking them. Some schools do this where they limit who can take specific classes. Doesn't make them UL classes though.
