Age 55 and older discounts for online college?
#1
Are there any online colleges that offer discounts for people age 55 and older?

I found these two, but they are on-site:

Found them here:

I could be mistaken, but I think that (for the most part), the "free" or "discounted" classes that are offered by some colleges/universities actually cost more than the inexpensive courses/schools we recommend here.

The in-person ones I know of allow seniors to audit courses for a reduced fee. If you want a grade and credit, you have to pay up the regular tuition (and be admitted in the normal manner). I believe at our local state university, it's also on a space available basis, IOW you're on standby. I can't say I've heard of an online program that has a discount.
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)
TECEP:Env Ethics (2015); TESU PLA:Software Eng, Computer Arch, C++, Advanced C++, Data Struct (2015); TESU Courses:Capstone, Database Mngmnt Sys, Op Sys, Artificial Intel, Discrete Math, Intro to Portfolio Dev, Intro PLA (2014-16); DSST:Anthro, Pers Fin, Astronomy (2014); CLEP:Intro to Soc (2014); Saylor.org:Intro to Computers (2014); CC: 69 units (1980-88)

Usually seniors are allowed to audit college courses for a discount. You don't receive a grade or any credit though so there's not really any point unless you just want to learn something for fun.

If you want an online course and you want to audit/don't need a grade, there are so many options! Aside from Coursera, a search on the internet for OpenCourseware will pull up a ton of free materials. MIT is perhaps the most famous, but they're not the only ones. A lot of universities have course materials online for free these days.
