Yeah, I think they weren't making much for the "free audits" so they've come to the conclusion of at least charging this to have it similar to other MOOC's that charge a nominal fee to get started. It's a great platform and people who ultimately want to get credit will have to pay for this fee anyways, they're just having it paid "first".

I just applied to this program just to see how degrees and classes come in. Organizational Leadership track - I may be living there soon and like the school, and could use a few professors for recommendations. My company pays for most of my classes, and that really helps.

Seems like schools like these types of classes now. Hopefully, it's a useful class for someone and not just a class to fill electives only.

I recommend these types of classes to people all the time. Especially high school grads who are going to go to college, but don't have a clue what they want to major in. Super helpful.

Yeah, I recommend these to those who like to discover a trade or something more hands on and applied... Basically these prepare them and get them on their way in deciding which direction they want to go... once they get the hang of things and know what they want in college and after college, they can pursue that goal. These should usually be coupled with College Readiness and other similar type of courses to prep students.

Anyone register for the first OGL course? I'm curious what the workload is like.

There is currently a backdoor way to audit the courses for free. I don't know if it will continue working, though.
It appears that you're enrolled in courses on the LMS regardless of whether or not the $25 fee is paid. If you can find your way onto the LMS platform, you can navigate to the course and start going through the material without paying.
For stuff on the old edX platform, go to https://courses.ea.asu.edu/
For newer courses on canvas, you have to follow a link from the ULC dashboard from some other course. Then click the courses button on the left sidebar and everything should be visible.
