New EASY option for Excelsior Information Literacy
#1
Just wanted to pass this along because I have not seen it posted anywhere. I just took the Information Literacy Class for Excelsior from Coopersmith Career Consulting. It is approved by Excelsior but you need to get approval before signing up. Watch a 90 minute youtube video and then take the 34 question test which is done through ProctorU.

Should take an afternoon.

$100 plus $25 for ProctorU

Just thought this may help some other people

Can you tell what is the name of the course at Coopersmith? All I can see are 4 Microsoft Office courses.

The test is super easy. They list a book as part of it but honestly if you watch the 90 min video a couple times, you will have no problem. Every question is covered in the video. They actually give you 2 credits for the class so that is a little bonus.

The bad? Other then the cheap course and the easy test they kind of suck. Total amateur hour. Had to take the test 2 times because of computer testing issues on their end. They said I was their first student for this so I hope they get better.

This looks like a great option for some humanities and sociology courses with no test or Straighterline equivalents.

Are textbooks required for these courses? If not, it seems like they're a competitive option to UExcels.... $150 + $25 for Coopersmith compared to $95 + $25 (PT) + $50 + textbook for some UExcels.
