New to Forum - TESC / Finishing Degree Inquiry
#1
Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and have been reading many of the great and helpful posts! I'll post what I can and any help is appreciated. I'm looking to complete my degree in the quickest way possible using the credits I have already and tests and/or courses. I've read alot on TESC and it seems to be the best fit. Maybe the BA Natural Sciences / Math degree? My concerns are: What degree makes the most sense with what I have completed? Some courses are D grades which I would like to use if I can. I plan to contact TESC this week but it seems from other posts that they take a while to review transcripts. Cost isn't really a factor, it's more that I want to finally finish so more along the lines of what degree and what tests should I look at. I'm a good test taker but also don't mind online courses either it's more that I want to get started and done ASAP!

I'm sorry. This is probably an easier to read breakdown of what I've completed. Much is Science, Math, Computers and Engineering.

D's can be used at TESC, but not in the Major Area of Study. All majors require 18 Upper Level credits which are 300-400 level courses. It appears you have no UL credit yet. So any TESC BA would work Thomas Edison State College | BA in Natural Sciences/Mathematics

If you wanted to apply some of your ECE and ENGR credits to a major then the BSAST in Technical Studies might be a viable option. Thomas Edison State College | Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and Technology

or this from Excelsior Excelsior College | Program Details

Easiest and quickest to test out of? TESC Liberal Arts
Excelsior - BS Business 2008

Son #2 TESC BA Computer Science completed November 2010 Currently in Florida State (FSU) Masters CS program and loving it

Hi Geezer,

Thanks for your reply. I have submitted the application and transcripts are being sent for TESC to review. I think Liberal Studies may be the best option. Some of my credits are over 10 years old which gets trickier if looking at Technical Studies. I wasn't sure if any of these would work for UL credit.

Is it correct that the D grades can be used for either General Education electives and/or Free Electives then?

I guess I'm a bit confused as to where to plug in my existing courses under the Credit Distribution and what makes the most sense using what I have most efficiently? Also, I need to research what levels my existing classes equate to at TESC.
