Financially, getting my masters is not possible without some sort of help. I am planning to enter Basic Officer Training after I graduate with a degree in social science from Thomas Edison State in December.
(New to Military) Does the AF pay for grad school if I enter OTS?

While on active duty, commissioned officers can use tuition assistance like their enlisted counterparts. The only difference is that officers have to agree to extend their commitment two years from the course end date( from last class, it doesnt cumulate). Currently, TA pays 250 per credit up to 4500 per year. This is considered a perk and not a guaranteed benefit. And the services have made attempts to cut it. Theres also the GI bill, but you have to be in a bit before you can use it while on AD. I dont remember how long, but your recruiter can answer that.

PrLoko-isms Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently. Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end. Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example. Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work. Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person. |
