Newbie seeking advice please
#1
Hi Everyone,

I've been reading through various posts and sites but wonder, could someone please perhaps steer me in the right direction?

I'm mid 50s, only have GED, have worked mostly in office/legal secretary/office manager roles.

I would like to secure a 'decent' paying exec admin assistant position but am having difficulty and think perhaps the lack of degree is not helping.

I don't want to spend years 'in' school at this stage, I just want to get back out to work and the idea of 'testing out' does appeal to me.  I appreciate I can't test out 100% and I'm fine with this.  Essentially, the easiest/fastest route is what I am aiming for.

I am not mathematically nor scientifically minded - so perhaps liberal or history do you think?

Which of the 3 would suit best?

In anticipation, thank you very much indeed!

I would look at TESU's BALS, or maybe one from COSC. You can test out of 117 credits at TESU, and 114 from COSC.

You could also look at Patten if you want a competency-based degree. You can test out of 75% of that degree.

Thank you very much dfrecore for including the link, that is very useful. I just took a cursory glance and may have a question or two once I've had a chance to absorb it...
